Tigers show their stripes at the Sun

November 21, 2008|By Robin Goldsworthy

Tiger Den from pack 302 of La Crescenta visited the offices of the Valley Sun newspapers on Saturday, Nov. 15. The reason for their visit was to learn about newspapers and how they’re made.

The Valley Sun visit helped them to learn more about communication and to earn a “Go See It” bead. Once they get their bead they will put it on their Tiger Totem. When they’ve completed all their achievements, they will have earned their Tiger badge.

Six boys visited the office. They are all first grade students. From Monte Vista were Kevin Bradford, 7, Dani Chmait, 6, Erik Faeustle, 6, Max Mesnik, 6, Jacob Thomas, 6, and from La Crescenta Elementary was Tyler Larsen, 6.

The boys stopped at the Valley Sun offices after spending the morning collecting items for the annual Scouting For Food drive.

Also visiting with the Tigers were siblings Sarah Bradford, 8, and Hunter Larsen, 4.

Sarah is also in Scouts, a Brownie with Monte Vista. Hunter is an aspiring Tiger.

For more information on joining the Scouts, contact the Verdugo Hills Council of Boy Scouts or visit a pack meeting held the first Friday of each month held at Monte Vista.
