Festival of Trees on Sunday in Burbank

On Sunday, Dec. 7, the Assistance League of Glendale will transform the ballroom of Burbank Airport Marriott Convention Center into a holiday fantasy spectacular when it presents its 33rd annual Festival of Trees. The festival begins at 10 a.m. with a silent auction followed by the opening of the lavish ballroom that showcases the many Christmas trees, each uniquely decorated. Every guest can purchase tickets for a chance to win one of the magnificent Christmas trees or other items displayed around the room. A holiday luncheon will be served at noon with entertainment provided by the Crescenta Valley High School Jazz Band.

All proceeds from this event support the eight philanthropic programs of Assistance League of Glendale. The event is open to the public. To purchase tickets call (818) 790-7041.

Season’s greetings helps charity

Proceeds from the sale of greeting cards made by residents of Rosemary Children’s Services in Pasadena will benefit the organization. The cards are $10 for a pack of ten and proceeds support Rosemary Children’s Services during this holiday season. For more information, call Maria Vazquez at (626) 844-3033 ext. 202 or visit www.rosemarychildren.org.

Remembering seniors this season

Local seniors who otherwise might be forgotten this holiday season will receive gifts and companionship through the fifth annual “Be a Santa to a Senior” program. Area non-profit senior agencies and retailers are partnering with event sponsor Home Instead Senior Care of Burbank to brighten the lives of seniors in Burbank, Glendale and the Foothills.
