SIDEWALK CLEANING
The council unanimously approved a $180,000 contract with Hydro Pressure Systems to clean the city’s sidewalks and fixtures.
Since 2002, the city has retained the services of Hydro, which uses high-pressure water hoses to clean sidewalks and remove debris on some Glendale’s most popular walking paths on Brand Boulevard, Maryland Avenue, Colorado Street and Broadway.

The council’s contract agreement also extends the life of the agreement to June 30.

BANNER REQUEST
Glendale Memorial Hospital, fresh off being named one of the nation’s 50 best hospitals for the third year in a row, received council approval Tuesday to hang 105 banners throughout the city advertising its award.
The banners will hang on Brand Boulevard, Glendale Avenue and other sites around town for 30 days, starting Feb. 16.
The two-sided banners show an image of the hospital on one part with its three-year run from 2007 to 2009 on the other.
