Computer Lessons for Seniors — The Crescenta-Cañada Family YMCA is offering free computer lessons to teach senior citizens basic computer skills.

The lessons are made possible by Adam Berkeley, a volunteer at the YMCA. Lessons are taught on a one-on-one basis at the Crescenta-Cañada Family YMCA to encourage confidence, and allow the students to work at their own speed. Lessons are available by appointment and can be taken until the student feels comfortable on the computer. Square Dance Class Thursdays from 7:30 – 9 p.m. A weekly Thursday night beginner’s class and workshop for those who would like to brush up on their square dancing steps, presented by Set in Step Square Dance Club taught at the La Cañada Community Center, 4469 Chevy Chase, La Cañada. Ron Durkee is the professional caller. The dress is casual, and the price is $5 a lesson. To have a partner is suggested but singles are welcome also. For information call (818) 790-6175.

Friends 4 Fulfillment — Class offered at the Community Center of La Cañada, Flintridge. This is a 10-week program in goal-setting for women. For more information and to register, contact the Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge at (818) 790-4353.

Winter’s Comfort Foods Jan. 22, 6 to 9 p.m. Atop a hill with views of the San Gabriel Valley, Descanso Gardens’ Boddy House kitchen is the perfect site for cooking fun. Patina Chef Tiana Driggins shares personal recipes and demonstrates cooking methods for making delicious winter foods that will warm everyone. Afterward, participants will enjoy an entire menu together.
