Planetarium Show Jan. 16 at 8 p.m. and Jan. 17 at 6:30 p.m. “Evening with the Stars” presentations will be held in the Glendale Community College Planetarium.

The digital planetarium show takes guests on a one-hour fact-filled ride out to the edge of the cosmos and back again, introducing them to the stars, constellations and planets.

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. No credit cards.

The college is located at 1500 N. Verdugo Road.

Camellia Show & Camellia Forest Tour Shows are Jan. 17, 1 to 4 p.m. and Jan. 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; walking tour is Jan. 18, 2 to 3 p.m. Be dazzled by glorious camellia displays and friendly experts to talk about them; on Sunday take a free walking tour of Descanso’s camellia forest. Doo Dah Parade Pancake Breakfast Jan. 18, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. The Pasadena Senior Center will be serving its Annual Doo Dah Parade Pancake Breakfast just prior to the parade. The menu will feature a hot breakfast of light and fluffy all-you-can-eat buttermilk pancakes; it also includes scrambled eggs and a choice of ham, bacon or sausage.

The Center, at 85 E. Holly St., has the best parade location in town because it is situated at the start of the Doo Dah Parade route at the intersection of Holly Street and Raymond Avenue. The cost of the Doo Dah Parade Pancake Breakfast is $7. Southern California Camellia Society Show Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, Saturday 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. As home to the largest camellia collection in North America, Descanso Gardens hosts a variety of winter camellia shows that feature glorious camellia displays and friendly experts to talk about them held in Van de Kamp Hall.
