YMCA can aid obesity fight

I read the article “Inspiring kids to be healthy, active” (Wednesday), and it caught my attention because it was really interesting. It had good messages for kids, and especially for people who are obese.

Your article has good details because you covered all the important things like why fitness is important especially for young people, and how people can have a good relationship with others.

Obesity can be considered a big problem in this country; therefore, this article can help people to think more about losing weight. You also keep the information about relationships that young people can have in the gym.

Ryan Nakota, the director of wellness at the YMCA of Glendale, states, “So what we try to do here at the YMCA is try to build relationships with these individuals.”

Childhood obesity is a serious problem, and it can be considered a disease. If children are overweight, this extra weight will put them at risk for developing dangerous diseases.

Today, the majority of kids spend their time with computers and they don’t exercise, but a gym is a place where kids release their stress and learn how to exercise.

The United States has many overweight adults. The adults are busy, so they prefer to eat in fast-food restaurants, and they don’t have time to make food and go to the gym.

Some kids are going to follow their parents’ way. They make eating a habit without being worried about their health.

Physical education in gyms can help students in many fields. Besides losing weight and making their bodies strong, they learn how to communicate with others and how to respect each other. They can make good friends, and the gym will become an enjoyable place for them.

Obesity has become a serious problem for kids, and it causes them to lose self-esteem. Therefore, going to the gym helps them to regain self-esteem and improve their skills, especially for educational goals.

Childhood is a bad time to develop eating habits because kids are unable to control the obesity; for these reasons, kids should go to the gym for losing weight, having a healthy lifestyle and being active.
