Pta News:

Apply for service scholarships

March 10, 2009|By FRAN TUNNO

Hoover High School PTSA is encouraging graduating high school seniors to apply for scholarships that recognize students for their volunteer service in the school and community.

There is no grade point average restriction or requirement. Applicants must be PTA members. Deadline to apply is April 10. Students should consult their counselors for an application.

March is a special month for seniors who have applied to four-year colleges. It is at this time that seniors will begin hearing back from colleges and universities. We wish all our seniors the best of luck.

The spring sports season has started. Teams are hard at practice and most of them have their first games/meets/matches coming up this week.

All 10th-graders will be taking the California High School Exit Exam on March 17 and 18. All high school students need to pass this exam in order to graduate. Most Hoover students pass it the first time they take it.

This year, Visual and Performing Arts week at Hoover is March 30 to April 3.
