Moonlight and Clark

April 03, 2009|By Mary O’Keefe

Last Saturday students from Clark Magnet High School danced the night away during their Moonlight Serenade Junior Prom.

The prom was not held last year because of low ticket sales but that was far from reality this year as over 170 tickets were sold.

“It was very successful,” said teacher and associated student body advisor Susan Giatti.

The dance was sponsored by the class of 2010 and held in the cafeteria which was decorated by Stephanie Mines from Creative Source. Lights illuminated the ceiling and walls that were full of stars surrounding the students.

Giatti said, “We brought the outside in.”

Giatti added that students are still talking about the dance and that students who had not purchased tickets felt that they missed out on something special.

“We will be having it again next year,” Giatti confirmed.

There will be a slight change; the dance will be called the Spring Semi-Formal. This way there is no confusion about who can attend.

“Everyone is invited.”
