With Mother’s Day around the corner, La Cañada Presbyterian Church and Icthus International are planning a special luncheon in honor of women. Mothers, grandmothers, daughters, aunts or special friends will all be welcome at the lunch, planned for 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 2 at La Cañada Presbyterian Church, 626 Foothill Blvd.
The lunch will feature a presentation by Karlene Cunningham on “Wearable Art: The Costumes and Textiles of Guatemala.” Now retired, Cunningham was the former head of the Fashion Program at Pasadena City College. She has had a lifelong interest in Guatemalan fabric since she first went to Guatemala in 1960.
Attendees will also be inspired by a new short film on the ministry of Icthus International called “A Child Shall Lead Them.” Icthus serves youth and children in Central and South America.
