The Ball’s In Their Court

April 22, 2009

Basketball players from Toll and Wilson middle schools took to the courts Tuesday in a game made possible by the Glendale Educational Foundation.

The foundation has covered the cost of busing students into action for a middle school basketball league that would not have been organized this year without funding for transportation.

Busing for an after-school football league for Glendale Unified School District middle school students in the fall was paid for by the foundation after the program had been dropped by the Glendale Police Department because of budget cuts.

Foundation organizers then took up the cause of the basketball league, funding transportation for a nine-game season between teams at Toll, Roosevelt and Wilson middle schools.
