Water restrictions are becoming a joke

As a longtime resident of La Crescenta, I have a difficult time taking the talk of water restrictions seriously. For my family and modest household, I do what I can to not use excess water. But when I drive around the La Crescenta and Glendale area and see all the city-approved multi-unit dwellings being built where small single-family homes and/or a simple store had been, then talk of water restrictions becomes a complete joke to this resident.

I will continue to use the reasonable amount of water it takes (which I pay for) for my family to live cleanly, grow my own vegetables, and keep my yard looking nice. This is why I chose to live here.

Thank you, La Crescenta

This past Wednesday, our beloved three-pound teacup Chihuahua was lost when she slipped through an unknown hole in a fence near the intersection of La Crescenta Avenue and Honolulu. I quickly want to say that after 24 awful hours, we found her just a little worse for the wear, and she will be just fine.

It was truly a miracle she survived the night, and that we located her, yet it would not have been possible without the help of some wonderful people in that area.

Two folks called with specific tips that led us to her location, and countless folks called just to offer help and support. In 40 years, I have never been more proud to live in this area, and we just wanted to say thank you thank you thank you, good people of La Crescenta!
