Mother’s Day worship service

First Congregational Church of Glendale (UCC) welcomes everyone in celebrating Mother’s Day at a worship service at 10 a.m. May 10.

The Covenant Players, a theatrical group out of Oxnard that has used drama to communicate the love of God since 1963, will provide vignettes throughout the worship service — including the children’s time and the sermon.

A rose will be given to each woman in honor of Mother’s Day.

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

‘Parade of Quartets’ presented May 9

“Parade of Quartets” will take place at 7 p.m. May 9 at the La Crescenta ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

This is the second annual quartet festival which the Church has hosted. Male, female and mixed quartets will present entertainment that the entire family will enjoy. Come for a fun evening of music and refreshments. There is no admission charge.

Verdugo Valley Baptist Church

Church presents the Darden Family

Verdugo Valley Baptist Church will present the singing Darden Family during both this Mother’s Day’s 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. services.

This talented family with six children includes parents Bill and Liz along with Selah, Clarah, Havilah, Tabithah, Josiah, and Noah. They sing in several languages accompanied on the piano by the childrens’ maternal grandfather Joe Tater.

Pastor Jesse Johnson has announced that each mother in attendance will receive a special Mother’s Day remembrance. He will preach from the King James Version of the Bible.

 All invited to ‘Labor of Love’

First Baptist Church, La Crescenta presents a men’s breakfast the third Saturday (the next is May 16) each month at 7:30 a.m. Enjoy a great breakfast and devotion. The cost for breakfast is $5. After breakfast there will be an opportunity to do odd jobs around the houses of those who need it.
