La Crescenta Presbyterian Church

 Chamber Music benefit concert

The members of La Crescenta Presbyterian will be presenting an evening of chamber music to benefit the homeless in Tijuana, Mexico, at 7 p.m. May 31.

The performance will include members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic performing works by Bach, Janacek and Schubert. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted to support the church’s mission work in Mexico.

 Community Baccalaureate Service

La Crescenta Presbyterian Church will present its 2009 La Crescenta Baccalaureate Service at 4 p.m. June 14.

The church will be hosting this ecumenical Christian celebration of local high school graduates — the first of its kind in many years in La Crescenta.

Families and friends of graduating seniors are encouraged to attend. Prayers and music will be led by students and pastors from area churches, and the keynote address will be given by the Rev. Chuck Hunt, a youth pastor from Palos Verdes and frequent guest speaker at Forest Home Christian Camp.

A reception will follow the service.

 Children’s Ministry food drive

The Children’s Ministry Department at La Crescenta Presbyterian Church will be collecting food to distribute to the Children’s Hunger Fund in Pacoima.

Food may be dropped off at the church office during the week from 9 5 p.m. Acceptable foods are beans, rice, canned goods, cooking oil and pasta.

Soul Seeker Saturday presented

Instruction on the good news of Jesus Christ is the foundation of Verdugo Valley Baptist Church’s Soul Seeker Saturday at 10 a.m. every Saturday.
