Clark and CV students receive scholarships

Tatevik Mirzakhanyan of Clark Magnet School and Holly Stevens of Crescenta Valley High School were each awarded a $1,000 scholarship by the National Charity League, Inc. Glendale Chapter at the organization’s annual meeting at Oakmont Country Club.

Mirzakhanyan will be attending UCLA next fall, majoring in global studies and English. She is a long term volunteer for the Glendale Adventist Hospital, Glendale Rose Float Association and the Pacific Branch Library. She is also treasurer of the Armenian Club and an accomplished writer, serving as the editor-in-chief of Clark Magnet School’s literary magazine. She translated fairy tales for children as her senior project.

Stevens will be attending Occidental College in the fall, majoring in business administration. She is an exceptional student and clarinetist and is head of her section in the high school band. She is also an outstanding writer and serves as editor-in-chief of CV’s Journeys Magazine. For years Holly has volunteered for the beautification program at Virgil Middle School and founded the Builder’s Club there.
