Crescenta Valley United Methodist Church

Survive the recession

Crescenta Valley United Methodist Church presents a series of gatherings to help the community survive the recession.

Come for expert advice on a variety of survival topics, followed by supportive conversation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. beginning July 6.

On July 6: “Save Your Home” by Debra Zimmerman, housing rights attorney with Bet Tzedek Legal Services.

On July 13: “Raise Financially Responsible Children” by Joohee C. Lee, financial services professional with New York Life.

The series will run for eight weeks. There is no charge and a light lunch is provided.

First Baptist, La Crescenta

 All invited to ‘Labor of Love’

First Baptist Church, La Crescenta presents a men’s breakfast the third Saturday (the next is July 25) each month at 7:30 a.m. Enjoy a great breakfast and devotion. The cost for breakfast is $5. After breakfast there will be an opportunity to do odd jobs around the houses of those who need it.

 Church offers ‘Mom’s Day Out’

Chabad of Glendale, Foothills

Mommy & Me program offered

Chabad of Glendale and the Foothill Communities offers a Mommy & Me program at the chabad at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays.

Meet and spend time with other moms living in the area while the little ones enjoy new friendships and quality playtime.

Children are introduced to basic Jewish values and traditions.

These are integrated through art, music and movement in a warm, creative atmosphere.

The program is offered for children as young as 6 months.
