The Greater Los Angeles Zoo Assn. presents Music in the Zoo from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Los Angeles Zoo in Griffith Park at the junction of the Ventura and Golden State freeways. The event will feature performances by cover bands of music by the Beatles, Eagles, Grateful Dead, the Doors and Bob Dylan. It will also include interactive animal education and conservation stations. Admission for GLAZA members is $12.50 for adults, $7.50 for children. Today is the last day to reserve seats for “Fiesta de la Vida,” the 13th annual cancer survivor celebration put on by Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center and the Marcia Ray Breast Center. The Alex Film Society presents two screenings of 20th Century Fox’s “The King and I” at 2 and 8 p.m. at the Alex Theatre at 216 N. Brand Blvd., Glendale. The film follows the tale of Anna, a widowed schoolteacher, and her journey from England to Bangkok, where she develops a challenging relationship with the king of Siam. The Glendale Chapter of Transition to Green Community Club will be hosting a meeting about new technologies from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Shakers Restaurant, 801 N. Central Ave., Glendale.
