8 Reedy does it by land and through air, Oct. 2, 2008 Reedy does it by land and through air, Oct. 2, 2008 — It wasn’t unusual for Crescenta Valley quarterback Karsen Reedy to damage defenses with his legs and arm and he did that in dramatic fashion against Burroughs in a 34-32 win.

“He’s played wonderfully well in this offense,” Falcons Coach Tony Zarrillo said. “He gets a chance to run and throw the ball, it’s a perfect offense for a kid like him.”

With 33 seconds left in the game, Reedy culminated a game-winning drive that took over five minutes and saw him rush for 46 yards and pass for 34. In all, he had 160 yards rushing in 23 carries and 173 yards passing.

The All-Area standout carried 22 times for two touchdowns, including a 45-yarder, and 249 yards, but even that wasn’t enough in the 37-21 loss.

10 Fleming shows who’s No. 1, Jan. 28 Fleming shows who’s No. 1, Jan. 28 — Having aided mightily in the top-ranked Tologs soccer team holding No. 2 Chaminade scoreless in a crucial Mission League tilt, Sinead Fleming went ahead and got her team a victory, as well.

From roughly 25 yards out, Fleming let loose on a shot that found the far corner of the net in the 79th minute, putting the Tologs a step closer to a first-ever league crown.

“I don’t really remember what happened,” said Fleming of the goal, which was assisted by Izzy Johnson. “We connected, just boom, boom, boom, and then the final boom.”
