Lionheart fighting tonight in L.A.

Glendale boxer Art “Lionheart” Hovhannesyan will make his return to the ring tonight in Los Angeles at Club Nokia for a “Fight Night Club” card presented by Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions.

Hovhannesyan (8-0-1, 3 KOs) is set to face Baudel Cardenas (18-18-2, 6 KOs) in a six-round lightweight (135 pounds) match.

The 27-year-old Hovhannesyan, who trains out of Glendale Fighting Club under Edmond Tarverdyan, last fought in June, picking up his sixth straight win and the second knockout in his last four fights. Hovhannesyan has had at least three prior fights since June fall through due to various reasons.
