Crowning the queen

November 05, 2009

Natalie Innocenzi, a 17-year-old senior at Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, was officially crowned during a ceremony Wednesday at the Pasadena Convention Center.

The 92nd Rose Queen was crowned by Dominic DiSano, 17 — son of the late Gary DiSano, president and longtime volunteer of the Tournament of Roses who died in September — amid a throng of supporters and the seven-member Royal Court.

Innocenzi, an Arcadia resident, is captain of the junior varsity tennis team and volunteers for a number of charities, including Amnesty International Club, and as a board member for the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America Teens, according to the Tournament of Roses.

As the main ambassador of the Tournament of Roses, Innocenzi is scheduled to participate in roughly 150 community and media events, organizers said.
