Mixed martial arts: Pair of Glendale grapplers have bouts in limbo.

November 11, 2009|By Grant Gordon

GLENDALE — Much to the dismay of Glendale mixed martial artists Alberto Crane and Sevak Magakian, Saturday’s CalledOut MMA card in Ontario has been postponed indefinitely.

Official word came on Tuesday afternoon via a press release from CalledOut MMA President and CEO Steve Miller along with a release on the company’s website.

“I regretfully confirm that the Nov. 14 show has been postponed,” Miller stated in a press release. “We are diligently working out all the factors right now in order to reschedule. We will do our best to make it as quickly as we can. Between the fight card, production, ticket sales, and sponsors, there were numerous deadlines that had to be met. As of this morning, several critical deadlines had not been met. Our team had to face the only alternative.”

Crane (12-4) was scheduled to fight Albert Rios (11-4) in a three-round lightweight (155 pounds) bout, while Magakian (7-2) was also to fight in a three-round lightweight affair against Noe Quintanilla (5-5).

It was Crane’s second scheduled opponent and the third for Magakian.

This was to be CalledOut MMA’s third card.
