PTA News:

Glendale Healthy Kids, with the support of Glendale Adventist Medical Center, CVS Pharmacy, city of Glendale Parks, Recreation and Community Services, United Pharmacist’s Network and Norris Foundation, will be presenting the second annual For The Kids Health Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 17.

The event will be at the Pacific Community Center, 501 S. Pacific Ave., Glendale. Health screenings for kids, including vision, pulmonary, scoliosis, stress and dental, will be offered free of charge. There will be entertainment, goody bags and lots of information for parents.

Lincoln Elementary

The next PTA meeting is at 7 p.m. Thursday in the cafetorium. Planning for future events will take place.

Upcoming activities include Yellow Ribbon Week and the annual Penny Drive. More information will be sent home in Thursday folders.

Valley View Elementary

Join the festivities beginning at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 14, as there will be a brief PTA meeting followed by Foundation Movie Night and Eat-in in the auditorium. Families can come together to enjoy a relaxing evening as the new year begins. Contact the school office for more information.

The Reward Assembly begins at 8:25 a.m. Jan. 30, and this month’s theme is country-western. Staff and students are encouraged to dress up as cowboys and cowgirls to show their school spirit.

La Crescenta Elementary

The PTA Board meets at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 13 in the auditorium, and the foundation meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 14 in the auditorium.

Sixth-graders head to Camp High Trails from Jan. 19 to 22.

Tickets are on sale now for the first PTA Father/Daughter Renaissance Dance at 6 p.m. Feb. 10 and the Mother/Son Knights in Shining Armor Tournament at 6 p.m. Feb. 11. Both events will be in the auditorium, and space is limited.

Dunsmore Elementary

The PTA will host a daylong Portable Planetarium event Jan. 12. There will be two assemblies during the school day for students and one at 6:30 p.m. for families. There will be a brief PTA meeting before the family night under the stars in the auditorium, and, weather permitting, Portable Planetarium will host its event on the lower playground. In case of rain, the event will be in the auditorium.
