Plagued as all get-out

It’s a voice I’ve learned to ignore, but can’t today. I open the door and walk out into the day. No direction, but I end up at a park and simply walk around its open field. Before long I’m aware of the rhythm of my pace; each step a heartbeat. The sun bathes me, and I feel it piercing me deeply, trying to get into my frigid bones. Light streams through the leafless branches, flickering like a moving picture. And I feel it take over my body, coursing through my veins.

Sun and movement. Intoxicating. My hands finally warm and pulse in time with my heart.

No need to consult your doctor. This medicine is free and over-the-counter. Those with fair complexion should use sunscreen and avoid prolonged exposure; side effects may include contentment, peace, happiness, lowered weight and blood pressure, sleep-filled nights and a general sense that everything is going to be all right.
