Hoover to hold charity game
The second annual Stars Shooting for Hope celebrity basketball game will take place at 7 p.m. Friday at the Hoover High gymnasium, 651 Glenwood Road, Glendale.
The event will feature local celebrities scrimmaging against Glendale Unified School District employees with all proceeds from admission going to the La Crescenta-based Desi Geestman Foundation, a charity organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children suffering from cancer and their families.
Last year’s inaugural event raised funds for the foundation through a silent auction of prizes and sports memorabilia and ticket sales for the game, which saw the teachers pull out a 57-53 win.
