Glendale 5K CROP Hunger Walk
The Glendale 5K CROP Hunger Walk begins at 1 p.m. Sunday at Incarnation Catholic Church, 1001 N. Brand Blvd., and finishes with a celebration at St. Mark’s Episcopal church, 1020 N. Brand Blvd.
CROP, or Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty, is an education and fundraising event cosponsored by an interfaith group of local congregations and Church World Service.
Walkers encourage people to sponsor them by asking for donations.
The fundraiser benefits local food aid programs, such as Salvation Army’s Meals on Wheels, Adventist Hospital Food Pantry, Catholic Charities Loaves & Fishes, Bailey Human Care Center in Tujunga and Glendale College’s Food For Thought.
Funds raised also go to disaster relief in the United States and developing countries.
