BOYS’ TENNIS

Crescenta Valley 13, Burbank 5: Sweeps by No. 2 singles Chris Kim (6-3, 6-2, 6-2) and No. 2 doubles Eric Khanlarian and Jesse Santos (6-4, 6-2, 6-2) paced the Falcons in a Pacific League win at Burbank on Tuesday.

Crescenta Valley (2-1, 2-0 in league) also got a 6-4, 6-4, 7-5 sweep from No. 3 doubles Steve Kim and Yuta Takiguchi.

Glendale 10, Mark Keppel 8: Ashot Papikian was dominant in a 6-1, 6-1, 6-0 sweep and No. 1 doubles Jeff Asano and Elliott Kim also swept, 6-2, 6-1, 6-3, to lead the Nitros in a nonleague match at home on Tuesday.

On Monday, Glendale (2-2) was defeated by Temple City, 11-7, in nonleague action.

BASEBALL

St. Francis 6, Pasadena 3: AJ Berglund (1-0) struck out nine over six innings to earn the win for the Golden Knights (3-0) in the final round of pool play of the Arcadia Elks Tournament on Tuesday.

St. Francis will next compete in the semifinals at 3:15 on Thursday.

Crescenta Valley 4, Alta Loma 2: Troy Mulcahey homered and pitched the Falcons (1-1) to a win in the second round of the Glendora Tournament on Tuesday. The sophomore hurler/outfielder allowed one earned run on three hits in six innings, while fanning nine.

Nate Rousey got the save with a scoreless frame. Tyler Pollak went two for four with a double for Crescenta Valley, which opened its season with a 5-0 loss to Charter Oak on Monday.

Flintridge Prep 18, Morningside 0 (six innings): Royce Park and Kyle McDonald combined for a one-hit shutout over six innings, while the Rebels (2-0) banged out 18 hits in a Southern California Invitational Blue Division game in Inglewood on Tuesday.

Park (1-0), who allowed one hit and struck out eight over four innings pitched, also went one for three at the plate with four runs batted in and four scored. Karlsen Termini went two for three and drove in six runs.

SOFTBALL

Mayfield 3, Holy Family 0: The Gaels suffered a nonleague loss at Brookside Park on Tuesday.

GIRLS’ SWIMMING

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 90, Westridge 75: Freshman Emily Balog had an impressive debut for the Tologs in their nonleague season opener on Tuesday at Sacred Heart.

Balog won the 200-yard individual medley in 2 minutes 20.56 seconds and the 100 breaststroke in 1:14.01 before teaming with Meg Ryan, Madeline Talt and Christina Brandt to win the 200-medley relay in 2:01.62 and combining with Eva Dulcich, Monica Pernecky and Shaylyn Stanley to capture the 200-freestyle relay in 1:51.92.
