But, through the rhetoric and shocked indignation, despite what new and perhaps shocking revelations may come to light and the eventual outcome, let’s not forget: Beck is a person, guilty of the same failings and shortcomings as you and I. What led her to allegedly make such a poor decision is a deep, inherent human fault that we are all subject to: Lust, the craving for something we know instinctively isn’t good for us, yet we want it anyway.

She’s a mother, a wife and a friend. The alleged victim is just a kid, subject to the whims of his age and susceptible to authority. They will both deal with the repercussions of their alleged actions for the rest of their lives.

If this did in fact happen, the real victims are her kids and husband; the collateral damage of such shortsighted decision-making. For them, nothing is easily answered by our gossip, a kid moving on or a mother and wife facing a prison sentence.
