Yeo’s entire menu was available to the most discriminating of palates with plenty of sake to wash it down.
More than 100 supporters plunked down their $25 donation for Sushi for a Cure.
La Crescenta resident Mae Abouchakra put the party together with help from Tujunga resident Sheryl Buhr. Both are raising funds for the first Sunland-Tujunga Relay for Life teams.
Abouchakra is also fundraising for Foothill Relay for Life teams, having sold 100 tickets by herself to the evening’s event.
Two of those tickets were bought by Glendale residents Loretta Ngo and husband Blain Kramer, who couldn’t get enough sushi.
Also volunteering behind the scenes were members of the Glendale Latino Assn., including President Mercy Velazquez and board member Nancy Guillen.
Expected proceeds of $5,000 will go to the American Cancer Society, the sponsoring organization of Relay for Life teams.

La Crescenta Woman’s Club new member Madlyn Richer has $900 less to her name but won the prize of the live auction — a blue topaz ring valued at $1,100.
Club member Dea McCrory was a spirited auctioneer. “An American Beauty” was the theme Saturday of the club’s largest fundraiser of the year.
The clubhouse was decked out in red, white and blue. Matching the table decorations, sparkling stars hung from the rafters. And, indeed, the rafters were raised.
At 156 members and their guests, the clubhouse was packed nearly to capacity, but no one wanted to miss this afternoon of socializing, door prizes, opportunity drawings, silent and live auctions, a luncheon and fashion show of ensembles from Annie’s Scandal in Montrose.
Rita Even, club president and Glendale resident, welcomed the “American Beauties” present and a handful of “American Handsomes,” one of whom was Dick Huntwork, model escort and husband of busy club member Carol Huntwork. Drink stewards were Rick Berger and Tim Wright.
The luncheon extended the American theme with barbecue beef sandwiches, potato salad, coleslaw and apple pie a la mode.
