GCC Services offers class on opera

Regina Merwin, a speaker with 13 years of experience pitching “extreme music theater” will begin a series of three weekly classes for the opera-curious and opera-fearful of all ages.

“Give Opera a Chance!” will begin May 13, through Glendale Community College Community Services. The class will be given at Clark Magnet High School, 4747 New York Ave., La Crescenta.

Student and faculty art show Thursday

The annual Student Art Show opens with a reception from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday in the Glendale Community College Art Gallery on campus at 1500 N. Verdugo Road, Glendale.

Admission is free. Gallery hours are noon to 6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. The show ends June 3.
