For a photographer, baseball and softball can take a while to shoot.
There are moments of extreme action, followed by long bouts of waiting. Trying to stay on target while standing in the hot sun is hard to do, so I’m always looking for a shady place to stand.
Hoover and Flintridge Prep have some of the best fields for me to shoot at. I can stand in the shade, put a 2X teleconverter on a 300mm lens, giving me 600mm, set the aperture at f5.6 and enjoy a nice day at a ball game.
