Glendale Adventist Academy 3, Armenian General Benevolent Union 0: Eshban Lee contributed a match-high eight aces Thursday to spark the visiting Cougars to a 25-20, 25-15, 25-17 Westside League victory.

Glendale Adventist improved to 3-6 and 3-4 in league.


St. Francis High in Mission League individual finals: No Golden Knights could extend their seasons Thursday at the tournament at Mountain Meadows Golf Course in Pomona.


Richie Maloof of St. Francis had a 10-over-par 82 on Thursday after shooting a 76 in the first round Wednesday for a two-round score of 158.

Maloof said he struggled on some of the greens.

“I just putted horribly during both rounds,” said Maloof, a reigning All-Area member. “I just couldn’t get anything to go both days.”

Bobby Coffin of St. Francis had an 80 on Thursday for a total of 161. Drake Muir registered an 83 (163) for the Golden Knights, who got an 85 from Chris Petitio (165).

The cut to advance to the CIF Southern Section Northern Individual Regional in Oxnard on May 17 was 151.


Crescenta Valley 11, Pasadena 0 (five innings): The visiting Falcons won their ninth contest in a row, as Nicole Salas hit a pair of home runs and drove in five runs Thursday in a Pacific League contest called because of the 10-run rule.

Crescenta Valley (16-8 and 10-2 in league) got two hits and two runs scored from Delaney Gay, Alyssa Sovereign and Erin Ashby. Allison Lacey contributed two runs and two runs batted in.

Crescenta Valley starting pitcher Breanna Klein picked up the win, striking out seven.

Chaminade 8, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 0: The Tologs yielded seven runs in the sixth inning of a Mission League game Thursday.

Flintridge Sacred Heart dropped to 6-9 and 2-4 in league.
