“I was thrilled because the best she’s done for us this year [in the 200 IM] was a 2:05.30,” Sacred Heart Coach Steve Bergen said. “It’s just a marvelous achievement.”
She will be the top seed in both events at the Division II finals to be held on Friday at the same venue.
Also qualifying for the finals with a top-16 performance on Wednesday was the Tologs’ 200-medley relay team of Kropp, Meg Ryan, Emily Balog and Madeline Talt, which turned in the 15th-best time, 1:53.05.
“I was so excited to see that they made it back [to the finals],” Bergen said. “I had hoped maybe we’d be top-20, so to be 15th is really a great day for them.”
Sacred Heart’s 200-freestyle relay team had the 25th-best mark of 1:43.91 and Talt was 22nd in the 500 freestyle in 5:10.80.
