Good to hear of Kimber's influence
On Tuesday of this week, my wife and I had the pleasure of attending a surprise retirement party for Hoover High School and News-Press columnist Dan Kimber.
The party was mainly populated with former and current Hoover High students who eloquently spoke on their experiences in Kimber's history and debate classes. The students spoke of his skills as a teacher, but also of his warmth, sincerity and character as a mentor to them. In these troubled times, it was refreshing to hear our future leaders speak about how Kimber had so wonderfully prepared them for life.
Emergency services did a great job
This past Memorial Day weekend our complex had the need to contact the Glendale police and fire departments.
Both of their response times were amazing, and the well-trained personnel that responded were both overwhelming and a welcome sight.
Due to the fast response time, a medical situation was handled in a life-saving manner and a domestic abuse incident was stopped in its tracks. We at Cobblestone Row Condominium Units are grateful for the response of the city departments and for their quick action to keep the peace, save lives and restore order.
Bravo to the firefighters and police officers for their fast response to our complex's needs. Whatever we pay them, it is not enough.
