Some of Broadway's brightest stars will shine on the Alex Theatre stage Monday in "Broadway Tonight!"
Eric McCormack of TV's "Will & Grace" and Broadway's "Music Man," and Stephanie J. Block and Megan Hilty of "Wicked" are among those who will be singing and dancing, said Barbara Epstein, producer and director.
"For 'Broadway Tonight,' you are seeing all of them in one night in a fabulous show," Epstein said.
The event will raise funds for weSPARK Cancer Support Center in Sherman Oaks, founded by actress Wendie Jo Sperber. Sperber died five years ago after a battle with breast cancer. She was diagnosed in 1997 at age 37.
"I've done the show several years, and I've been involved with the organization since the beginning, and weSPARK is going into its 10th year," Epstein said.
Sperber was determined to open a support center that had more of a homelike setting, unlike the stark hospitals and clinics she had encountered. The independently run center opened in 2001. All services are free to cancer patients and their families.
