Wedding: Graham Houser, Michelle Kosta wed

Former La Crescenta resident Graham Houser and Michelle Kosta were married at the Cook Farm in Troutdale, Ore. The Rev. Sarah Royal officiated.

The mothers of the bride and groom spoke during the ceremony. The groom’s dog Dink served as the ring bearer. Following the ceremony, the couple rode out on an adult tricycle to the song “A Bushel and a Peck and a Hug Around the Neck,” from the Broadway musical “Guys and Dolls”. Another highlight was when a bluegrass band sang and played “Picture in a Frame,” by Tom Waits, the couple’s favorite song.

At the reception guests sat at vegetable-themed tables and dined on a barbecued dinner while wearing stick-on mustaches available at every place setting. The bride and groom and wedding party surprised everyone with a choreographed dance.

The maid of honor was Chelsea Kosta, the bride’s sister. Bridesmaids were Leslie Croghan, Sophia Bianco, Laurel Ferrarini, Emily Warden and Becca Houser, the groom’s sister.

The best man was Matt Harmon. The ushers were Jules Radkins, Stephen Colvin, Joe Kosta, Jack Kosta, Nick Kosta and Kim DeLacy.

For their honeymoon, the couple backpacked and hitchhiked for two weeks in Canada. They have made their home in Portland, Ore.

The bride is the daughter of Cathy and John Kosta of Chino Hills. She graduated from St. Lucy’s Priory School in Glendora and received her bachelor’s degree in religious studies from the University of San Francisco. She is an enrollment specialist for Big Brothers of America in Portland.

The groom is the son of former La Crescenta residents Lyndsey and Jerry Houser, who now live in Salem, Ore. He graduated from Crescenta Valley High School and received his bachelor’s degree in social work from Warner Pacific College in Portland. He is a social worker with the Parry Center in Portland.
