SOUTHEAST GLENDALE — The Glendale YMCA Quarterback Club, in its 68th year, meets Tuesday's at the Elk's Lodge. The following are odds and ends from the 11th and final meeting.
COACHES HAND OUT AWARDS
After more than four months of film sessions, practices and games, the four area high school football teams affiliated with the Glendale YMCA Quarterback Club handed out their respective team awards at Tuesday's event.
St. Francis, which advanced to the CIF Southern Section Western Division playoffs, had a trio of players who were awarded plaques. Senior quarterback Brett Nelson was named the team's most valuable player. Senior free safety Ted Williams, who sports a 4.4 grade-point average, earned the team's Scholar Athlete Award. Sophomore fullback/linebacker Nathan Clark was tabbed the junior varsity team's most valuable player.
