Briefly in Public Safety: Teens arrested for vandalism

December 01, 2010

Two Glendale teens arrested last week on suspicion of spray painting six businesses in the south San Fernando corridor, including city property, will have to answer in court for vandalism.

Pablo Duarte, 18, and a 17-year-old boy whose name was not released because he is a minor, were arrested early Wednesday after witnesses allegedly saw one of them spray painting a word onto a wall on the 3800 block of San Fernando Road, according to Glendale police reports.

The boy had allegedly been spray painting while Duarte was acting as a lookout, according to police reports.

Six businesses, including an auto repair shop, a pawn shop, the Seeley's Furniture building, St. Mary's Adult Day Health Care Center, a doctor's office and wheel alignment shop, had been vandalized with black spray paint, according to police reports. A city electrical box was also damaged.
