Police investigate robbery involving kitchen knife

December 15, 2010

Police say they are continuing to investigate a robbery in which a knife-wielding man ordered a woman to stay in her bedroom as he ransacked her home and fled.

The woman awoke about 10 a.m. Dec. 6 to the man entering the house through her bedroom window, according to Glendale Police Department reports. Police said the man likely cut the window screen and slid it open to enter her apartment in the 500 block of East Lomita Avenue.

The man, who was armed with a four- to six-inch kitchen knife, reportedly turned to the woman and told her to "Stay there."

Fearing that he would attack her, she didn't move or say a word to him and remained in her bed. The man then returned from her mother's bedroom holding a jewelry box and fled through the window. The woman then immediately called police.

The man was described as roughly 5 foot 7 inches tall with a stocky build, and was wearing a black mask, green fleece sweater and dark-colored pants.

Anyone with details about the robbery can call the Los Angeles Regional Crime Stoppers' tip line at (800) 222-TIPS.
