Tologs escape a scare

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 2, Alemany 1: The Tologs escaped a scare on the road Monday night to remain unbeaten with a Mission League win on the strength of a goal and an assist from Breeana Koemans.

Koemans scored in the first half off a Katie Johnson assist before Alemany tied the match in the 40th minute.

Roughly 15 minutes into the second half, Alyssa Conti scored the game-winner off assists from Jillian Jacobs and Koemans.

Sacred Heart is now 10-0-1 and 2-0-1 in league.


Burbank 64, Glendale 47: David Yetenikyan scored 12 points and Suren Gyurgchyan added nine, as the Nitros (5-10, 0-3) fell in a Pacific League contest on the road on Monday.


Flintridge Prep 86, Santa Ana Calvary Chapel 55: Kenyatta Smith contributed 33 points, 20 rebounds and four blocks Saturday to spark the Rebels (10-4) in a Small Schools Showcase contest at Liberty Christian High. Robert Cartwright finished with 13 points for Flintridge Prep, which got 12 from Jared Norsworthy.

Renaissance Academy 55, LACES 51: Anthony Cost had 20 points for the Wildcats in a nonleague game on Saturday. Jessy Cantinol added 14 points and seven rebounds for Renaissance (10-6).


Burbank 47, Glendale 35: Nina Sahakian led the Nitros (9-6, 1-2) with 10 points in a Pacific League home loss on Monday. Michelle Tomasian added six points and Serah Mirzaeian finished with eight for Glendale.

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 65, Blair 24: The host Tologs (10-6) received a game-high 35 points from Vanessa Romero and 11 from Stephanie Ramsden in a nonleague contest on Saturday.

Chadwick 44, Flintridge Prep 21: Maya Okamoto finished with nine points Saturday for the visiting Rebels in a Prep League opener. Kristin Shum added five points for Flintridge Prep (3-8).


Glendale Community College 74, Santa Monica City College 71: The visiting Vaqueros got 13 points from Robert McQueen and Antonio Garrett added 12 points and a team-high 10 rebounds Saturday in a Western State Conference victory. Nikolas Rhodes contributed 10 points and seven assists for the Vaqueros, who improved to 13-5, 2-0 in conference.


Santa Monica City College 80, Glendale Community College 62: The Vaqueros fell Saturday in a Western State conference road contest. Glendale college dropped to 0-14, 0-2.
