Yes, there are other big stories, but this one is the biggest of all for those hundreds of us who are rigorously fighting to keep this open space and recreation amenity for our community.
ADI story: all smoke and no fire?
I picked up the Crescenta Valley Weekly and saw the front-page story about Advanced Development & Investments Inc.
As I read it, I was immediately hit by the professionalism of the reporter, Mary O'Keefe. It was a breath of fresh air to actually read this story filled with facts and no innuendos. This reporter, in only a few columns, succinctly wrapped up what this whole ADI story is really all about
The editors at the Glendale News-Press and some News-Press and L.A. Times reporters are trying to make this story their Watergate. To them I would say: none of you are Bob Woodward or Carl Bernstein. Unless you have some "Deep Throat" skulking about in a garage somewhere, filling you in on a massive cover-up, I strongly urge you to get back to actual journalism. And when quoting someone, please put his entire quote in the paper.
Of late, this same paper is looking more and more like one of those tabloids we see while waiting to check out at a supermarket.
