GLENDALE — The following are updates on local athletes at the collegiate level.

Jason Ochart (Hoover High, 2008) junior, San Francisco State baseball: In the top of the fourth inning on Sunday, the Glendale Community College transfer belted his first home run for the Gators, a two-run shot that helped San Francisco State to a 6-2 victory over Menlo College.

Ochart, an All-Area standout in his days at Hoover, got his third start in the outfield and is hitting .286 with a pair of hits in seven at-bats. A walk and a hit by pitch have his on-base percentage up to .444.

Ochart is also a relief pitcher for the Gators and has made one appearance, throwing two innings of shutout ball in which he allowed two hits and notched a strikeout.

Kevin Dultz, another GCC transfer, is also a part-time pitcher/catcher on the squad.

The senior has started all six games for 5-1 San Francisco State and is hitting .316 and has a spotless earned-run average after one two-inning appearance.

The Gators open up California Collegiate Athletic Assn. action Friday on the road against Cal State L.A., which features Crescenta Valley graduate Chad Nacapoy and former Hoover standout Brian Moon.

Rosa Del Toro (Glendale Community College, 2010) junior, Long Beach State track and field: Del Toro continued to make her mark with the Long Beach distance program, as she ran Saturday at the Flotrack Husky Classic in Washington and tallied the third-best time in school history in the women's 3,000-meter race.

She took fifth in the Section 2 race in 9 minutes 47.79 seconds. Her time was 41st overall.

On Friday, fellow Glendale college transfer Nina Moore took to the track for Long Beach and also made a bit of school history, as her time of 17:22.36 in the women's 5,000 meters was good enough for the second-fastest indoor 5,000 time in the school record books.

Lainey DePompa (Crescenta Valley High, 2008) junior, UC Santa Barbara softball: DePompa and the Gauchos are off to a 5-0 start to the season.

The former Falcons standout has been the starting catcher in every game and began the team's season with a two-for-three day on Friday and notched the game-winning RBI in a 3-2 victory over Western Kentucky.

On the season, DePompa is hitting .250 and behind the plate has a perfect .1000 fielding percentage. The pitching staff has turned in a 1.06 earned-run average thus far.

The Gauchos begin play in the San Diego Classic on Friday against Howard.

Zareh Zargaryan (Hoover High, 2007) senior, Cal State Dominguez Hills basketball: Zargaryan came off the bench Saturday to help Dominguez Hills to a 72-68 California Collegiate Athletic Assn. victory.

Zargaryan had nine points on four-of-nine shooting to go along with a solid all-around game in which he also tallied a game-high six assists, four rebounds and two steals.

On the season, the Toros are 19-3 and 15-3 in conference for second place.

Zargaryan has played in all but one of the Toros' games, starting in 12. He's averaging 10.1 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.

The Toros take on UC San Diego at home Friday in another conference game.
