Roses group has float in Burbank on Parade

The Burbank Tournament of Roses Assn. has created a smaller version of the 2011 Founders Award-winning “Building Dreams, Friendships and Memories” as an entry in this year’s Burbank on Parade. A few of Burbank’s world-famous icons are getting reworked to make their way along Olive Avenue beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday.

The Peruvian Paso horses are another featured entry in this year’s event.

Premier rock ‘n’ rollers Captain Cardiac and the Coronaries will be rockin’ birthday tunes down the parade route, along with marching bands, celebrities, floats and local dignitaries.

Parade entries are still being accepted and applications can be found at

Burbank on Parade is a nonprofit organization run by volunteers. For more information, call the BOP Hotline at (818) 736-7972.
