Donald Keith Sullivan, long-time resident of Glendale, California, most recently of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away on April 10, 2011, at St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. Don was born in Burbank, California on July 14, 1932. He was married to Phyllis Bonar Sullivan for forty-six years until her death in February, 2006. He is survived by his four daughters: Susan Dontanville of Berkeley, IL, Kathy Drummond of Glendale, CA, Jeanine Fundora of Valencia, CA, and Carolyn Fehn of Fontana, CA. He was “Grandpa” to his ten grandchildren: Joe Simarano; Kristina Drummond Fluitt and Amy Drummond; Katie, Missy, Nicki, and Gaby Fundora; Michaela, Alex, and Timmy Fehn. He was “Great-Grandpa” to Avery Simarano. He is also survived by a brother, Edwin Sullivan of Magalia, CA, and many nieces and nephews. In addition, he is survived by his fiancée Patricia Brown of St. Petersburg, FL.
Don attended Franklin High School in Los Angeles, California, Glendale College, Chico State University and Cal State Los Angeles. Don served in the Korean War from January, 1951, through January, 1955. During his years of service, he was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Korean Presidential Unit Citation.
