The Vaqueros will next participate in the regionals, which will be held May 9 at Bermuda Dunes Country Club in Palm Desert.
"It's just so phenomenal what the guys were able to get accomplished," Glendale college Coach Greg Osbourne said. "What an accomplishment.
"I can't be more proud of the way the program was able to come together. We put in the work, they did it and anything can happen. Our goal now is to be able to advance to state as a team."
Timpson, a Crescenta Valley High graduate and a reigning All-Area pick, began his first round in style. The freshman fired a seven-under-par 67. He birdied the first three holes before notching an eagle on the 18th hole.
Timpson then had a 75 in the second round. He bested Brett Silvernail of Ventura and Aaron West of Canyons, who was named the conference's player of the year, by three strokes.
Osbourne said Timpson, who earned all-conference honors, remained focused throughout both rounds.
"On the eagle, he rolled in a five-foot putt," Osbourne said. "He flagged me over and he told me to watch him make that shot.
"He just continued to move along and get a bunch of birdies."
Brennan Amirkhizi finished with a two-round score of 148 to finish sixth and achieved all-conference accolades for the Vaqueros, who received a 153 from Danny Fernandez, a 157 from Vincent Lam and a 160 from Chris Ramirez.
College of the Canyons finished first with a 760 to also qualify for the regionals. Allan Hancock College carded a 774 to take third and join Canyons and Glendale at the regionals.
Santa Barbara placed fourth (779), followed by Citrus (783) and Bakersfield (786).
