There was nothing "shabby" about the Glendale's Assistance League's "Shabby Chic" Fashion Show and its "Tres Chic Tea" on April 26. Each year the league models shimmy between luncheon tables showing off ensembles for pennies on the dollar. They are all on sale through the league's Thrift Alley thrift shop. This year's get was a pair of Stuart Weitzman shoes at $10, ordinarily worth hundreds.
Event chairwoman Roseann Case and her co-chairwoman Carrie Ward gently supervised her committee of Bea Wojtyla, Mary Lo Follett, Sylvia Kowal, Sally Benson and Margaret Hammond.
A luncheon of tea sandwiches and sweets was accompanied by steaming pots of tea, poured by the hostess of each table. Table 5 was presided over by Mary Margaret Smith. Bunches of spring flowers matched the colorful tablecloths and cloth napkins.
