Burroughs finished second in league, followed by Crescenta Valley and Burbank. The top three teams from the seven divisionals will move on to the CIF Team Championship Final, which will take place at 8 a.m. Thursday at Mission Lakes Country Club in Desert Hot Springs.
Burroughs' two most consistent golfers this season have been juniors Kelsey Danzeisen and Chris Kesicbasian. Danzeisen placed fifth and Kesicbasian was seventh in the league individual finals, which took place Tuesday and Wednesday at Brookside Golf Course in Pasadena. Other key varsity players are Jeff Lundquist, Nick Colbert, Sivakorn Losakul and Sean White.
"I feel proud of how all of our guys did this year," Burroughs Coach Greg Everhart said. "To come in second in our league is really the same as coming in first because Arcadia's so much better.
"As I predicted earlier in the season, we were going to have to play well if we wanted to finish second, and we did."
Crescenta Valley isn't a stranger to the event or the course. The Falcons finished 13th last season and 14th in 2009.
Several of the players — John Lee, Aaron Peskett and Adrian Chia — are familiar with the 6,750-yard course in Ventura County. The Falcons will also look for freshman Paul Park to excel. Park finished 11th in the league finals.
"Soule is a tough track," Crescenta Valley Coach John Pehar said. "Our goal going in will be to shoot close to 400.
"If we can do that, then we have a shot being among the top six to eight teams."
Though Burbank finished fourth in league, it still has a couple of quality athletes in Kenny Cunanan, who took eighth in the league tournament, and Brady Dunayer and Andy Chung.
