Nitros knock off Arcadia

SOFTBALL

Glendale 3, Arcadia 1: Casey Ramirez pitched a complete game to lead the Nitros to a Pacific League road win on Tuesday backed by offensive contributions from Meghan Spencer, Janette Avina and Sheila Araji.

Flintridge Prep 8, Chadwick 0: Denise van der Goot struck out 15 batters and went four for four at the plate to lead the Rebels in a Prep League home win on Tuesday.

Other Prep (12-4, 9-2 in league) standouts included Ashley Kim (two for three with a run batted in), Charlotte Kay (two for two with an RBI) and Sydney Golombek (two for three with two RBIs).

Harvard-Westlake 10, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 0 (five innings): The Tologs (9-14, 3-6) were eliminated from playoff contention with a mercy-rule shortened Mission League road loss on Tuesday.

BASEBALL

St. Francis 11, Loyola 4: Joey Malham pitched a seven-hit complete game and Jeff Garavaglia went three for four with two RBIs to lead the Golden Knights (13-13, 5-6) in a Mission League road win on Tuesday. Tei Vanderford drove in three runs and JP Nolan plated two for St. Francis.

Flintridge Prep 12, Chadwick 10: Cole Rademacher pitched three innings of relief to earn the win and Kyle McDonald recorded a save for the Rebels (13-9, 7-4) in a Prep League road contest Tuesday.

Pasadena 3, Hoover 2: Will Davis homered in support of pitcher Cameron Doran in the Tornadoes' Pacific League road loss on Tuesday afternoon, which dropped the squad to 6-7 in league.

Arcadia 11, Glendale 3: Jason Marquez pitched a complete game and went two for two at the plate for the Nitros, who dropped to 1-13 in the Pacific League with Tuesday's road loss.

Zach Fields went one for three with a home run for Glendale.
