Firefighters on Saturday put out a blaze in a detached garage on Wilson Avenue that spread next door to another garage, officials said.
No injuries were reported in the fire, which started about 6:57 a.m. in a two-story home in the 600 block of West Wilson Avenue, Glendale Fire Capt. Stuart Stefani said.
The garage was engulfed when firefighters arrived, so they evacuated the home’s residents, he said.
Heat from the fire ignited a second blaze on a neighbor’s six-car detached garage, Stefani said.
Fire crews confined the second blaze to an attic area in the remodeled garage, he said.
The fires were knocked down about 7:35 a.m.
Damage to the garages was estimated at $70,000. Another $10,000 worth of contents was also destroyed.
