April 6 — After Troy Mulcahey, the eventual All-Area Baseball Player of the Year, pitches six scoreless innings, Elliott Surrey provides two spotless innings of relief and the game-winning hit to score Tyler Pollak for a 1-0 win against West Torrance in the championship game of the Babe Herman Tournament.

Surrey is named the tournament MVP.

April 8 — The girls' track and field team competes in the Arcadia Invitational. Anneke Kakebeen turns on the jets in the final leg of the Seeded 4x1,600 Relay to help Crescenta Valley finish fifth in 21 minutes 49.55 seconds in the second-to-last event of the night.

"I thought we ran a good race, it's our best [4x1,600] we've run this year," Crescenta Valley Coach Mark Evans said of the team that also included Claudia Pham, Diane Lombardi and Cali King. "They came out with medals, so they're excited."
