A 70-year-old Glendale woman remained in critical condition Wednesday after a refrigerated delivery truck struck her when she stepped off the curb on Central Avenue, police said.
Tonya Kisishvili had swelling in her brain and was in a coma at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, Glendale Police Sgt. Dennis Smith said.
“We are hoping for the best,” he said.
She stepped off the curb against a red light about 2:40 p.m. Tuesday as the truck, which was traveling south on Central, approached the intersection at California Avenue and struck her, police said.
