Nitros roll to another league win

BOYS' WATER POLO

Glendale 16, Burroughs 9: Manuk Piloyan finished with five goals Tuesday to lead the host Nitros to a Pacific League win. Glendale (5-0 in league) got three goals from Artak Arzumanyan.

Hoover 16, Crespi 10: Hakop Kaplanyan and David Pogosyan each scored four goals Tuesday to lead the visiting Tornadoes (14-4) in a nonleague match at L.A. Pierce College.

Flintridge Prep 12, Milken Community 6: Ethan Vandeventer collected three goals Tuesday to propel host Flintridge Prep in a Prep League contest. Alex Blaine and Kellan Rohde each had two goals for Flintridge Prep (12-8, 3-2 in league).

GIRLS' VOLLEYBALL

Holy Family 3, Bishop Conaty-Loretto 0: Alicia Marquez notched 36 digs and Alexa Sandoval added 23 assists and seven digs Tuesday to lead the host Gaels to a 25-14, 25-22, 25-15 Horizon League win at Pacific Community Center. Aurora Aguirre added 10 digs for Holy Family, which improved to 11-8-3, 4-1 in league.

Webb 3, Flintridge Prep 0: Julia Miller and Kate Woolley each had seven kills Tuesday for the host Rebels, who fell, 25-16, 25-14, 25-15, in a Prep League match. Flintridge Prep dropped to 4-10, 1-7 in league.

Pasadena 3, Hoover 1: Liz Dardov finished with 10 kills for Hoover, which fell, 18-25, 26-24, 22-25, 21-25, in a Pacific League home match Tuesday. Nicole Mirzakhanian finished with seven aces for the Tornadoes, who dropped to 2-9, 2-8 in league.

Chaminade 3, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 2: The host Tologs were handed a Mission League defeat Tuesday. Flintridge Sacred Heart fell to 4-9, 1-4 in league.

GIRLS' TENNIS

Crescenta Valley 13, Burroughs 5: Singles player Karen Ataian swept her three sets, 6-1, 6-0, 6-1, on Tuesday to pace the visiting Falcons in a Pacific League match. The Falcons (12-2, 8-2 in league) received a 6-4, 6-1, 6-3 doubles win from Viktoriya Shumakova and Jackie Dilanchian.

On Monday, Crescenta Valley picked up a 10-8 nonleague home victory against Harvard-Westlake. Ataian swept, 6-2, 6-2, 6-2, as did Emily Borkowski, 7-5, 6-3, 6-0.

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 12, Chaminade 6: The host Tologs swept all nine doubles sets Tuesday in a Mission League match at Fremont Tennis Center. Elizabeth Williamson and Victoria McGregor won, 6-2, 6-3, 6-1 for the Tologs, who improved to 3-5, 2-4 in league. Flintridge Sacred Heart also received a 6-2, 6-2, 6-1 win from Diane Gutierrez and Lara Sarkisian and a 7-5, 6-3, 6-1 victory from Julia Byrne and Katie Altman. Emily Katz swept her singles sets, 6-0, 6-4, 6-0.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL

Citrus College 3, Glendale Community College 0: The Vaqueros fell, 25-15, 26-24, 25-23, to Citrus College on Friday in a Western State Conference match. Sara Kert finished with 10 kills and Laila Souktani added 21 assists for the Vaqueros. Racquel Valenzuela added 15 digs for Glendale college (7-10, 2-2 in conference).

MEN'S SOCCER

Allan Hancock College 4, Glendale Community College 2: Glendale completed its week Friday with a Western State Conference defeat. On Oct. 11, the Vaqueros fell, 4-2, in a conference match against College of the Canyons. The Vaqueros are 2-9-2, 1-4-1 in conference.

WOMEN'S SOCCER

San Diego City College 2, Glendale Community College 0: The Vaqueros closed out their week Friday with a nonconference loss. Glendale earlier suffered a 3-0 loss to Bakersfield College in a Western State Conference match Oct. 11. The Vaqueros dropped to 1-12, 0-5 in conference.
